Crusader Jazz Band

Director: Eric Stambaugh


This is the top jazz ensemble at BHS and is open to students enrolled in music by permission of instructor through audition only. This course is designed for the advanced musician and covers all phases of jazz, pop, ad improvisiation. This group makes many appearances locally as well as attending contests, clinics, athetic events, and jazz festivals. Students are expected to prepare their parts for rehearsals; therefore outside individual practice is a must to maintain the level of musicianship necessary to perform at this level! This is a performance class and is a full year course.

The Buhler High School Marching Band is a 4A class band that is entertaining as well as musical. All band students enrolled at Buhler High School participate in the Crusader Marching Band during the Fall term. This band performs at football games, parades, and marching festivals. Students are expected to prepare their parts for rehearsals, therefore outside individual practice is mandatory for participation. Crusader Wind Ensemble

    This is the top instrumental group at BHS and is open to wind and percussion students grades 10 through 12 by audition only. The Wind Ensemble is designed for the advanced musician, who is dedicated to the "extra" effort involved in the performance of the most difficult band literature. This band performs at concerts, music festivals, athletic events, and takes several trips during the school year. Members of this group are expected to assume the necessary self-discipline and responsibilities that contribute to the success of such an organization. Musicianship of the highest caliber is expected. Students are expected to prepare their parts for rehearsals, therefore outside individual practice is a must to maintain the level of musicianship necessary to perform at this level! Bands for athletic events are formed by dividing the band into smaller instrumentations especially designed for Pep Band performances.
